FACULTY
Louise Benton has a Tri-State reputation as a premier harp performer and instructor in the region. She heralds hundreds of students that sing her praises spanning a long career of harp instruction.
Grace Buckmaster has played violin for 15 years. She studied in Evansville under the Suzuki program for 10 years before taking lessons at the University of Indiana in Bloomington. She is now learning to play fiddle in Owensboro. She has taught privately for 2 years using Suzuki books combined with her own method.
Michael D’Alto had a successful thirty year career as a nightclub and cabaret performer in Southern California and Las Vegas; studied with the great musician, Sal Aglora, in Los Angeles, CA for four years; further trained under renowned teachers Peggy Flannery, Gene Merlino, and Wayland Pickard, as well as with the Los Angeles Civic Light Opera. Michael has also worked as an arranger, songwriter, musical director and talent agent.
Jennifer D’Alto began theatrical studies in 1980, including training under renowned teacher Peggy Flannery where she met husband Michael and together they formed their first nightclub act. They went on to perform together for 18 years in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Jennifer has also studied with Gene Merlino, Wayland Pickard, and the Los Angeles Civic Light Opera. She worked as a talent agent for JAM Talent in Orange County, California, and with husband Michael has written dozens of songs and two musicals. They still perform professionally in the Tri-State area.
Julie Oettle has a BS in Psychology from Murray State University, and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She has maintained a private piano studio for 23 years, was a volunteer piano instructor for the West Home for Girls, and has experience teaching piano to children with ADHA, OCD and learning disabilities.
Jacob Bozarth a graduate of Henderson County High School and local college student, Jacob has been playing the guitar for eight years and teaching guitar for 4 years. He is lead guitarist and vocalist for a Christian rock band called Six 33. Jacob also serves as the youth worship leader at Zion Baptist Church in Henderson, Kentucky. He has performed at many local concerts and churches. Jacob’s free-spirited style includes all genres of music using acoustic, electric, and bass guitar.
Jeffrey A. Lambert is a veteran dulcimer player and a meticulous builder of Jenny Wiley dulcimers and kits for his students and others across the globe. He is recognized by many dulcimer builders and players circles. A new resident of Henderson, he leaves behind a class of 30 students in Breckinridge County that he developed.
Terry Teeter studied flute from age 10 through high school. During that time she sat first chair in the band, earned several first and second place awards for performing solos and duets at the State Music competitions. Terry has been involved in music ministry at her church and has been worship leader. Currently employed with the Henderson County Public School system, Terry demonstrates her musical talent by playing flute for the elementary students who want to learn more about this instrument.

MUSICAL INSTRUMENT & VOICE – PRIVATE INSTRUCTION (30 minute lessons – Ongoing Throughout the Year)
1000) Music Theory (Private) Description: Lessons for students either preparing for further advanced musical study at a university or as a supplement to current instrumental/vocal lessons. Students will gain knowledge of keys, time signatures, intervals, triads, scales, and basic tonal harmony, including how to analyze progressions. Prerequisite: Ability to read standard notation in at least one clef. •Tuition is $88 per month - $88 non-refundable registration fee (goes toward 1st month tuition.) •30 minute time slots AVAILABLE on Mondays -- TIME MUST BE ASSIGNED – CALL AND INQUIRE. • Students will need to provide a staff paper and a theory book. • Located in RBA Private Instruction Room. • Instructor(s): J. 1001) Guitar and Bass Guitar (Private – Ongoing throughout the year.) Description: Instruction includes traditional “by-the-book” technique for basic chords etc., as well as more advanced instruction for individual note play (“picking”), theory, ear training, and composition. Lessons by instructor Ben Skinner also teaches classical and jazz styles as well as reading lead sheets and standard notation. •Tuition is $88 per month - $88 non-refundable registration fee (goes toward 1st month tuition.) •30 minute time slots AVAILABLE on Wed. & Fridays -TIME MUST BE ASSIGNED – CALL AND INQUIRE. • Student is to provide his/her own instrument. 1004) Piano (Private – Ongoing throughout the year.) Description: Traditional instruction with books and classical music, as well as chord approach, ear training, music theory and composition. •Tuition is $88 per month - $88 non-refundable registration fee (goes toward 1st month tuition.) •30 minute time slots available on Mondays– MUST BE ASSIGNED – CALL AND INQUIRE. • RBA will provide piano for lessons; student is to provide his/her own instrument for practice at home. 1005) Voice (Private– Ongoing throughout the year.) Description: Private instruction offered in both performing musical theater and classical voice training. Students will work on vocal technique, pitch recognition, breathing, connecting with the lyric, microphone usage, enunciation and phrasing, etc., with emphasis is in the areas of Broadway, Operetta, Jazz, Pop and Country music. Fine tuning technique and performance for upcoming gigs and competitions can also be included. •Tuition is $88 per month - $88 non-refundable registration fee (goes toward 1st month tuition.) •30 MINUTE TIME SLOTS AVAILABLE - MUST BE ASSIGNED – CALL AND INQUIRE. • Tuition includes sheet music and backup music on CDs as required. • Located in RBA Private Instruction Room. • Instructor(s): J. 1009) Guitar (1 hour group classes – Ongoing throughout the year.) Description: Provides the same elements as private lessons, but with less one-on-one time; however, some students prefer the social aspect and “jam session” offered by group lessons and workshops. •Tuition is $45 per month - $45 non-refundable registration fee (goes toward 1st month tuition.) •Group class on Friday 3:30 to 4:30 •If other times are desired or you have a group of your own, please call to inquire or to be placed on a wait list. •Students are to provide their own instruments. • Contact RBA for instrument rental opportunities. • Limit 6 students. • Located in RBA Private Instruction Room. • Instructor(s): Jacob Bozarth
1010) Voice (Group-Handicap Community Choir) Description: Instruction offered in both performing musical theater and classical voice training. Students presently are from Hugh Ed Sandefur Center but all handicap individuals in the community are welcome. Students will work on vocal technique, pitch recognition, breathing, connecting with the lyric, microphone usage, etc., Performances are included. •Tuition is greatly reduced to support mission $20 per month - $20 non-refundable registration fee (goes toward 1st month tuition.)
